India & Indonesia to cooperate on textile machinery production

India and Indonesia are well on their way to increasing the bi-lateral trade between the two countries. This increase in trade could rise, particularly in the textile and electricity generation sectors, said CII.
An industry delegation from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is in Indonesia on the invitation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Indonesia and is headed by Mr Rajive Kaul, Chairman of CII.
Giving details, Mr Kaul said that the current bilateral trade between the two countries had amounted to US $10 billion in the previous year and had the potential to double within the next five years.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ms Fahmi Idris said that her government was putting in place measures to revitalise and modernise the textile machinery and invited Indian textile machinery manufacturers to set up units.
Mr Ansari Bukhari, the Director General of the metals, machinery and textile department in the ministry would shortly be meeting machinery manufacturers from India to discuss plans to set up plants to produce spinning, weaving and processing machinery.
