Israeli manufacturer of branded and private label apparel products, Delta Galil Industries has announced that with 97 per cent jump in e-commerce sales during second quarter (Q2) of FY21, its total sales expanded 68 per cent to $455.8 million against same period of last fiscal. Net income improved to $27.3 million against loss of $53.3 million in Q2 FY20.

“We are very pleased with our performance this quarter, which now marks four consecutive quarters of record operating margin and three consecutive quarters of record gross margin, including achieving the highest ever gross margin of 41.1 per cent in this quarter,” Isaac Dabah, CEO of Delta Galil, said in a press release.

“It is also important to note that total sales were up 22 per cent and net profit was more than four times higher than in the same quarter of 2019, the last ‘normal’ period before the pandemic impacted the global economy,” Dabah added.

Gross profit during the quarter ended on June 30, 2021, increased to $187.3 million ($79.5 million), while operating income rose to $42.4 million (loss: $55.4 million).

The company raised its financial guidance for FY21 excluding non-core items and assuming there is no resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic, and now expects sales to increase 8-11 per cent in range of $1,825 million - $1,875 million against 2019 ($1,690 million).

“We remain focused on our commitment to digital innovation and recently announced the strategic merger of our Bare Necessities and Brayola business units to create the largest intimates marketplace for women. We also recently signed new global license agreements with Adidas and Wolford, and we are excited by the growth opportunities ahead of us,” Dabah said in the release.
