Gap hires apparel industry veteran Pamela B Wallack

Fashion retailer Gap Inc has named apparel industry veteran Pamela B. Wallack as Executive Vice President, GapKids, babyGap and Gap Maternity.
Wallack, who will report to Gap Brand President Cynthia Harriss, will assume her new responsibilities effective Dec. 12, 2005.
'Pam is a proven merchant and seasoned leader with more than 20 years of retail brand experience,' said Harriss.
'She has rich experience in the kids, baby and maternity businesses, including responsibility for design, merchandising, planning and allocation, and visual merchandising.
They're thrilled to have a leader of her talents join their team.'
Wallack, 46, joins Gap after seven years in positions of increasing responsibility at Toys 'R' Us, Inc, in New Jersey.
Most recently, she was Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager of the Juvenile and Apparel divisions for the Babies 'R' Us and Toys 'R' Us brands.
These responsibilities included product development, merchandising, planning and allocation, and sourcing.
Prior to her roles at Toys 'R' Us, Wallack held senior level positions in product development and merchandising at Coach, The Disney Store, Country Road Australia and Laura Ashley.
'This is an incredible opportunity to join a great brand where she think she can make a big contribution,' said Wallack.
'She really has a passion for the baby, children's and maternity business and she's eager to get started.'
