Men's Wearhouse declares April sales

Men's Wearhouse announced its consolidated sales for the fiscal month ended April 29, 2006.

Investors should note that US comparable store sales for the combined fiscal months of March and April of 2006 increased 3.5% over combined March and April of 2005 and are more appropriately measured on a combined nine-week basis due to a calendar shift which moved Easter three weeks later compared with last year.

Men's Wearhouse now expects to exceed the upper end of its quarterly earnings per share guidance provided on March 1, 2006.

The company will discuss the details of its 2006 first quarter results during its regularly scheduled quarterly conference call on May 17, 2006.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina, the company has excluded one K&G location that was closed the entire month of April from the comparable store base.

In addition, due to tornados in early April, the company has excluded one K&G location that was closed most of the month of April from the comparable store base.

Men's Wearhouse will report results for the fiscal first quarter of 2006 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, May 17, 2006.
