In second quarter, Formosa Petrochemical Corp is planning to set-up naphtha processing plant 'cracker'.

The new plant, expected to start between April and June, will enhance production capacity to 4 million tons a year, a surge of 42 percent.

Company currently operates two crackers having combined capacity of 1.73 million tons.

Due to increasing demand for ethylene in China, major petrochemical manufacturers are extending their ethylene capacity.
