Aggressive approach planned for trade with Asia-Pacific

Although this may at first appear as a disadvantage in terms of market access, it actually provides an important benefit. The region in which all kinds of products are produced with various levels of quality and at various scales is a huge market with over three billion consumers.

Asia-Pacific Countries Strategy is basically aimed initially at increasing our figures of export to the regional countries from the level of $2 billion at the end of 2004 to the level of $7.5-8 billion in the next five years.

An effective combination of the activities to improve commerce and the political will has given successful results since the beginning of 2005. Within that framework, our export to the region has risen to $2.5 billion in 2005 and is expected to exceed $3 billion at the end of 2006.
