Retail executives to gather in Atlanta for NRF LP Conference

As the topic of retail loss prevention continues to gain traction among law enforcement and legislatures, retailers will gather under one roof to learn ways to stop the multi-billion dollar problem of retail theft and fraud. NRF's Loss Prevention Conference, June 14-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, is the premier event for senior retail loss prevention executives and their business partners. The EXPO hall, featuring 200 exhibiting companies, will be open June 14-15.

A big part of solving the problem of retail theft comes down to the Chief Information Officers at any given company. This year, conference attendees will hear from prominent retail CIOs who will discuss “The Future of IT – The Fun of it and the Risks.” Jeff Donaldson, Senior Vice President and CIO of GameStop; Michael Rodgers, Executive Vice President and CIO at Saks, Inc.; and Janet Sherlock, Vice President of Carter's, Inc. will take part in an informative, detailed session on Monday, June 14 at 9:45 a.m. to discuss data security, point of sale systems and internal networks.

On Tuesday, June 15 at 4:30 p.m., NRF will also welcome three C-level retail executives who will discuss their expectations and insights during “Loss Prevention from a C-Suite's Point-of-View.” Attendees will hear from distinguished senior retail executives including Michael Archbold, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at The Vitamin Shoppe; Michael Brizel, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Saks Fifth Avenue; and Marvin Ellison, President, Northern Division at The Home Depot.

The conference will also bring retailers together with law enforcement, helping company executives understand how they can work with local and federal officials to reduce retail crime such as fraud, theft and burglary. On Monday, June 14 at 9:45 a.m., Captain Bill Williams of the LA Police Department will join Albuquerque Police Department's Chief of Police Ray Shultz, along with LAPD Detective Kent Oda and Target's District Asset Protection Team Leader Ken Cox, for a session titled “Time to Fight Crime through Community Policing.”

"You've Been Had": How You are Being Compromised by Return Fraud, and New Ideas to Stop the Loss

Attendees will learn real-life examples from return fraud experts of how criminals are taking advantage of retailers and how a major retailer is using intelligence and predictive analysis to optimize their returns.
